Miguna “I Will Return On May 16”
The self-declared NRM General, Miguna Miguna has announced his return to the country on 16thMay, 2018. This will be a second attempt after the first failed attempt in March.
Miguna maintains that he is a citizen by birth and should not be denied his right even as security agencies maintain that he renounced his Kenyan citizenship and is yet to regain it through the right channels.
According to the government, after the new Constitution came into force, Kenyans who had lost their citizenship as a result of acquiring other nationalities were required to officially apply afresh in a bid to regain their citizenship, something they say the international lawyer is yet to do.
Through his official twitter, Miguna posted: “I am Returning to Kenya on May 16, 2018. I am a Kenyan citizen by birth. The High Court has ordered Fred Matiang’i, General Gordon Kihalangwa , Joseph Boinnet and Kinoti 13 times to issue me with a valid Kenyan passport and facilitate my return to Kenya as a Kenyan unconditionally. #BringMiguna Home”.
