Former Harambee Stars coach Henri Michel has died at 70 after long battle with illness.


A former France international, Michel played for Nantes for the better part of his career. He began his coaching with France U21 team before progressing to take charge of the senior team.

He coached several national teams and clubs in Africa. He was in charge of Cameroon, Morocco, Tunisia, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and Kenya national teams. At club level he coached Raja Casablanca,  Zamalek, and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Outside the continent, he was in charge of Al Arabi in Qatar, Aris Thessaloniki in Greece, Paris SG and Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
