Head teacher frogmatched in Homabay by irate villagers
Head teacher Nyachar Primary school Eliud Ochanda, East Gem Location, Rangwe sub county, Homabay County was on Monday frogmarched by irate villagers after the ECDE classroom collapsed, killing one pupil and injuring several others.
Mr Ochanda said the minor sustained serious injuries. “I was called from class by some pupils and told the ECDE classroom walls had collapsed on pupils. I went to the scene and found the girl (Achieng’) writhing in pain before I rushed her to Rangwe sub-county hospital,” said Mr Ochanda.
The villagers went his office, where the headteacher was compiling a report, and started frog matching him only to be stopped by local politicians and administration.
The local politicians condemned the act and urged the villagers to remain calm as they sort out ways of constructing new classrooms.
The classrooms collapsed has a result of heavy downpour that is being experienced in the area.
