DP Ruto fails to meet Moi
Kenyan politics has delivered once again. This after it emerged that Deputy President William Ruto may have been snubbed by former President Daniel Arap Moi.
The DP yesterday paid a courtesy call on Moi at his Kabarak home but failed to meet him even after a lengthy wait.
Unverified reports indicate there were no prior arrangements for the meeting and hence there was nobody at hand to receive the DP.
A statement released by the former President’s media team stated that Moi was undergoing routine physical exercise with his doctors.
“Ruto, who was accompanied by Energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter, Ainaboi MP William Chepkut and lawyer Stephen Kipeknda were welcomed and had lunch at Mzee’s Kabarak home.
“Unfortunately, this coincided with the time Mzee Moi was undergoing routine physical exercise with his doctors. Mzee Moi agreed to meet the visitors at a convenient time another day in the very near future,” the statement read.
Ruto’s failed visit has raised eyebrows across the country, with political observers speculating that politics was at play and Gideon Moi, the chief orchestrator.
